BACKGROUND & SUPPORTING ARTISTS & EXTRAS
A BACKGROUND ARTIST is a person or a member of a group contributing to the overall authenticity and atmosphere to the scene.
SUPPORTING ARTISTS, also known as EXTRAS, work in smaller groups and although they are not required to give individual characterisation in a role or to speak dialogue beyond crowd noise or reaction, they appear in vision. Very often Supporting Artists and extras get 'talent spotted' on set and are offered a Walk-on or featured role, which is why it is so important for our children and adults to undertake 'Extras' roles. No experience is required.
WALK-ON & FEATURED ARTISTS
WALK-ON ARTISTS are not required to give individual characterisation in a role but are identifiable artists. There are different levels of walk-on artists, 1 to 3, and they need to be able to accept direction and possibly be able to speak a few unscripted words.
FEATURED ARTISTS perform a part as directed. They are required to give individual characterisation in a role and may be required to speak a few unscripted/scripted words. Children & teens with drama or theatre experience are best suited and they need to have a lively but patient attitude! Which is essential between takes!! Children & Teens that have some experience in performing, drama & theatre and are looking to progress their career further should contact us. EuroKids & Adults Agency supplies walk-ons for the BBC, Granada, Yorkshire & Independent TV & Production Companies. Click on our client list!
