MODELLING ADVICE & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

New and prospective models have lots of questions about child modelling and adult modelling so we have tried to help by answering the questions that we are most frequently asked. However, if you would like any more information and model advice please just give us a call, 0871 222 7470, and request a full colour brochure and information pack.

Q. I want to be a model, or, my child wants to be a model. What do you look for?

A. Every agency looks for something different depending on their clients. Our advice is that there is no stereotype of look in 'modelling' and we represent a variety of looks and nationalities. We cover a broad range of modelling work. This ranges from fashion & photographic work for Catalogues to Holiday Brochures where a variety of looks and ages are needed.

Q. If I join EuroKids & EKA where does the work take place?

A. The majority of the work is based in the North West and Midlands, especially in the Manchester and Liverpool areas, although we have models and actors working around the UK and Worldwide.

Q. Do I get travel expenses?

A. This depends on the location of the assignment. When the assignment is in the North West usually no expenses are paid. If the assignment is further afield in the UK the agency will negotiate expenses, if applicable, on your behalf. When working out of the UK expenses are paid by the client.

Q. I understand that children have to be licensed to do work. How do I licence my child?

A. You don't. EuroKids has their own licensing department and is a member of the National Network for Children in Employment and Entertainment. We attend meetings to liase with the authorities on issues relating to child employment legislation.

Our licensing department applies for your child's licence on your behalf as part of the service. All children, from birth to school leaving age must have a licence issued by the Educational Welfare Department within their Local Borough Council.

Q. I want to do modelling & television work part time or to fit around school, is this possible?

A. Yes. You have the right to refuse any modelling assignment that we offer you. Just choose the modelling assignments that are suitable for you and fit into your schedule.

Q. I am 57 years old. Am I too old to do modelling work?

A. Certainly not, just look at our Division 'EKA PEOPLE' and at the adverts in magazines and newspapers and you will see that modelling is for all ages! We frequently cast our more senior models for holiday brochures, leaflets, adverts etc so we are always searching for new faces who are 40 plus.

Q. How can I get involved in 'Promotional' work with EKA?

A. Our 'Promotions' division is for 17 years plus. Attractive people with confident and friendly personalities are ideal for Promotional Models. They represent companies at National Exhibitions to Local Shows. Our Promotional Models often work along side celebrities and enjoy the flexibility of 'Promotional Work' as many of our promotional models undertake assignments on a part-time basis but reliability is a must!

Q. How do I make sure that you are the right agency for me?

A. Many of our models and actors join on recommendations from someone they know or from one of our clients, what better recommendation! We also try to ensure that you have lots of modelling advice and know all about our agency through our website and the extensive information pack that we send to prospective models and actors. This includes our client list, photographs and press releases of our models and actors in action. Our clients include major Television Companies and Photographic Studios so this should put your mind at ease that we are a reputable agency!

Q. Is there a charge when joining EuroKids & EKA Agency?

A. In order for you to become a Model you need photographs and representation either by website, Catalogues, Comp Cards, CV's etc and of course, the dedication of your Model Booker! All agencies charge differently and our costs are in the information pack that we would be delighted to send to you.
